Discussion Questions
- What are the groundswells—grassroots efforts—you are most proud of in your own community?
- Much bicycle advocacy focuses on attracting new bike riders to city streets. But what are some ways to support and encourage all of the people already using bicycles?
I’m very curious about the “fix your own bike” stand – was that something that they put together themselves, or is that a kit that can be purchased? I support a similar group, Recycle Bicycle Harrisburg, and having a kit like this stationed somewhere outside our building (when we can afford our permanent home) might be beneficial for when we can’t be open. We only have 3 days a week available currently, because we are completely volunteer-run – having a DIY tool and rack kit outside for those off days or late nights when someone needs to change out a tube could be really cool.
Do they have any issues with people cutting the tools off the cables? Or vandalism?
